EPIC Disability Advocacy celebrated the accomplishments of EmpowerU® Cohort 2 at this year’s Achievement Ceremony. Graduates completed ten interactive modules focused on self-determination, self-advocacy, communication, and confidence-building, and the ceremony offered a meaningful way to recognize their hard work and growth.
Participants were welcomed into the Empowered Alumni community and had the opportunity to reflect on the skills they built throughout the program. Graduates shared connections with one another and spent time celebrating their progress alongside family and supporters.
A special part of the event was a recorded keynote from Cohort 1 alumni member Kai Sample. Kai shared a heartfelt message about the importance of community, using your voice, and continuing to learn at every stage of life. He reflected on how EmpowerU® helped them grow in confidence and encouraged Cohort 2 to keep practicing self-advocacy and supporting others. Watch the video here.
The ceremony also recognized the Empowered Alumni Advisory Committee for their ongoing work in strengthening the program. Their insights help shape future modules, improve accessibility, and support the continued development of the EmpowerU® community.
